Tatiana Sarasa

(ENG) Collected on the island of Mallorca, this series of works uses ochre pigments sourced from it’s soils and rocks. With minimal intervention—thin washes, delicate smears, or restrained gestures— ochres reveal their inherent colors and textures ranging from soft earthy nudes to deep rust orange. The restrained and rather abstract approach foregrounds the pigments’ tactile presence and chromatic nuance, inviting close observation of surface, sediment, and hue rather than of authorial hand, so that each work becomes a quiet testament to place and material. Geometrical shapes emerge intuitively on some pieces, as a visual language of some greater cosmic order.

(ESP) Creada en la isla de Mallorca, esta serie de obras utiliza pigmentos extraídos de sus suelos y rocas. Con una intervención mínima —finas veladuras, delicadas pinceladas o gestos mesurados—, los ocres revelan sus colores y texturas inherentes, que van desde suaves tonos tierra hasta un intenso naranja óxido. Este enfoque más sobrio y abstracto pone de relieve la presencia táctil y los matices cromáticos de los pigmentos, invitando a observar de cerca la superficie, los sedimentos y el matiz, más que la mano del creador, de modo que cada obra se convierte en un testimonio silencioso del lugar y del material. En algunas piezas surgen intuitivamente formas geométricas, como un lenguaje visual de un orden cósmico superior.
