Collected on the island of Mallorca, this series of works uses ochre pigments sourced from the island’s soils and rocks, allowing the material itself to shape each piece. With minimal intervention—thin washes, delicate smears, or restrained gestures— the ochres reveal their inherent colorities and textures: ochres ranging from soft earthy nudes to deep rust orange. The restrained approach foregrounds the pigments’ tactile presence and chromatic nuance, inviting close observation of surface, sediment, and hue rather than of authorial hand, so that each work becomes a quiet testament to place and material.
